Explore the diversity of pond life. Examine food webs in a natural community. Use dip nets to catch and identify pond creatures.
This program studies life in a pond. While at the pond boardwalk, students will use dipnets to catch some of the amazing invertebrates that live in the water. They will study their habitats, characteristics and adaptations for survival, before releasing them back to the pond.
Life cycles, food chains and food webs will be discussed. Older groups will cover trophic levels and limiting factors in the pond habitat.
